HANDS ON HEALING
As a self taught healing facilitator and a trained, licensed, and certified massage practitioner... I seek a balance between insightful intuitive healing with well crafted techniques that will assist individuals on their quest to reach their truer self.
The true self is the destination we all travel towards whether we know it or not. To help in this, the healer must first believe that there is a higher potential in each and every person. They need to see it true.
My position and purpose is to help others peal away the protective shells shielding us from perceived dangers of the impeding world. Those layers that have masked our deeper selves. Sometimes they keep the outside world from reaching our inner world while at the same time keeping the core of our being from shining brightly upon the world around us. When the individual is ready to reach their higher potential and shine brightly, then the work can begin.

MY OFFERINGS:
SWEDISH – Swedish is perhaps the most well known and popularized forms of massage in our western culture. It is a know for its smooth gliding strokes and use of oils and lotions to create graceful motions. Unlike the other modalities mentioned below, Swedish is a clothe off modality where the client is draped with sheets in an appropriate way covering them. The client is invited to dress to own their comfort level and partial Swedish massages can be done in target areas of focus such as arms, hands, feet, neck, or face. Swedish is great for targeting the outer most muscle layers just on the surface of the body. It is also good for improving the circulation of blood flow. For the deeper muscles of the body I would recommend a vibrational and acupressure mix. However, if you are looking for more of a pampered relaxation to improve circulation, you might want this common modality.
ACUPRESSURE – Acupressure is a well know form of therapy that is composed of a system of energy channels that travel up and down the body... almost like circuitry of the body. Where Acupuncture uses needles, Acupressure uses the pressure points. These points span the body on channels called meridians. Each of the meridian pairs connects to different organs such as Heart, Small Intestine, Liver, etc.. This form of therapy focuses on finding tight and blocked points and deficient areas on the meridian pathways so to free up the flow of energy up and down the body... hence reducing various types of ailments. Often times, blocked or deficient points will feel sore and painful to the receiver when pressed. A painful pleasure as some have called it. Sometimes when these points are pressed and unblocked, the individual will feel tingle sensation travel up or down the meridians that feels energizing and calming. Acupressure integrates well with other modalities..
ZEN SHIATSU – Zen Shiatsu is an evolved form of the Eastern Shiatsu. It embraces a more Yin gentle approach to the traditional Shiatsu. Sometimes Shiatsu gets a reputation for being painful. Zen Shiatsu is a much softer, but still effective form of precise movements and techniques that are built off of the Acupressure meridians. This style has been developed to match the flow of chi energy that follows a sequenced pattern that completes a full circle. Shiatsu uses a slow but steady pace that is very rhythmic, very similar to playing gentle music. I recommended it for general relaxation and clearing rather than targeted areas of focus.
VIBRATIONAL HEALING MASSAGE THERAPY – Vibrational Massage therapy is a modality that was developed by Patricia Cramer, which began 30 years ago and has been continuing to evolve since. It uses concepts of shaking and rocking explored in some other modalities. The foundation of the modality deals with the fluidity of the body. The work looks much like a type of physical therapy or yoga stretching and is great for reaching deep places and releasing stuck energy, memories, and emotions.
LEVEL I: The first level of Vibrational deals with fluidity of the body and the alignment of the joints. As none of the bones in the body actually touch, the key to creating fluidity is to making space within the joints and space between bones that have become stacked and rigid. Stretching and lengthening the distance within joints can help to alleviate stress while allowing a return of fluids within the joints. With repeated sessions, the client can develop new ways of standing and walking the promotes a fluid motion. Finding fluidity is dependent on releasing the muscles back into a relaxed state. There are many things that may be held within knots including toxins, stagnant energy, and even memories and emotions which get triggered by the release of trapped chemical signatures. This modality is great for moving toward such clearing and restoration of self.
LEVEL II: This next stage of the Vibrational Healing focuses primarily on emotional release and the purging of old memories and traumas that often get stored within the muscles within the rib cage. Because the ribs are closest to the heart and protect the heart, those intercostal muscles are very sensitive and tender. For that reason, this level is only for those looking to purge out deep emotions and confront those pains that may be holding them back in their life. Because the rib cage is not actually one solid bone, but rather joints connected to the spine area, the individual with also experience greater flexibility in this area when the muscles return to a relaxed state. Trapped toxins, as well as energy and emotions that surround the muscles closest to your heart are then released creating a lighter sensation within the individual that can be carried with them throughout their daily activities. This is a process of purging of trapped emotions and deep memories and therefore it requires a deep sympathy and empathy for those experiences past. If you are ready for this deep modality, I invite you to move to the next stage of self awareness through healing.
CHAKRA AWAKENING and BALANCING – “Chakras” is a word that means “spinning wheels.” Chakra work is based off of a traditional eastern Indian approach of energy that divides the body into different vertical energy centers that travel from feet to head. Possibly the most common modality of this is Reiki. For me, the chakras are the embodiment of the different aspects of the soul.
Traditionally there is considered to be 7 Major chakras with a serious of minor chakras that act as bridges to connect the major ones. Some traditional methods overlap the Chakras with the seven notes of the C major scale and they are commonly depicted as 7 colors of the rainbow R.O.Y.G.B.I.V. ... beginning with the Red as the Root chakra, which is closest to earth. The third eye is said to be the 6th chakra, the connection to the six sense and intuition.
My work with energy healing and awakening using the chakra approach is a lite touch, clothe on modality that activates the awakening of the energy centers with gentle and compassionate pressure. I choose to integrate other modalities into the mix as well, primarily soft acupressure and some vibrational massage. Part of the chakra work focuses on finding the energy centers that are within the body that are either deficient (blocked energy) or excessive (stagnant energy). A good metaphor to describe the aspects of energy flow is that of a river or the locks of a canal with various sections to it. If there is a closed or blocked area along the waterway, then you will have one area that is over abundant in energy trying to flow to that area. The next section up or down is lacking and dry of energy. Like the waters of life, energy gets “damned up” you have harmful conditions. Too much water drowns out the life and too little dries out the life like a barren desert. This is where the balancing comes out.
The body and soul is much like a tree of life, there are roots that ground us to the earth, trunks where we store emotions, and limbs that reach to the sky. In order to grow the fruits of our love and labor, we must have both the waters of love and life flowing to every limb, through out our bodies, minds, and souls. The energy work of chakras can easily be perceived by others as theory, because it is not quite seen, but electromagnetically the fields can be measured and anyone who has placed there hand on their heart to calm down, to catch their breathe, and to balance knows... or anyone that has given hugs to others and felt more centered, can feel these spinning wheels of energy.
My work with chakras comes in two main parts, first is awakening stagnent energy and next is bringing it to flow into balance. Because, these energy centers are like windows or doors to the soul, it requires deep compassion and a soul to soul connection that is based on intuitive listening and heartfelt sincerity.
INTEGRATIVE MASSAGE-- The "Whole" in "Holistic" is based on the fact that we are comprised of many facets and systems. Within the physical body alone, there is said to be 11 different systems, blood, bones, skin, muscles, nervous system, and so on. On top of that there are other energy systems tied into the physical systems. Different perspectives compliment and fill in the missing pieces where others lack. For that reason, integrative massage is a great way of mixing modalities of massage therapy into a single session. Because the healing facilitator listens to the needs of the client by feeling areas of tension and relaxation, it is good to allow for the healer to adapt to these needs. All the modalities mentioned can be integrated together and used at various points in time. Swedish, if great for general circulation, while acupressure can be used to target deeper points including organs and uncomfortable sensations. Vibrational works well for creating alignment within the various limbs as well as creating space within joint for fluidity and energy flow, which works great with Chakra work.... that awakens source energy to fill the body with energy to empower healing. There is no set procedure for integrated work as it all depends on the clients needs. In most cases, this approach is done as a clothe on modality, except in cases where the client requests the benefits of a Swedish focus. Integrative is great for clients who are uncertain as to what they need, but know that they are in need of healing.
IN CONCLUSION -- So now that you have some more information on the various modalities, I urge you to reflect on what it is you are seeking. If you have any questions, I will be happy to offer whatever knowledge and understanding that I can provide. Scroll down the "Session Details" for more information on booking a session. Thank you for your interest.
